The trial court found contradictions in the prosecution's case and ruled in favor of the accused. This incident highlights a recurring issue with Chennai police not using proper equipment during narcotic seizures, resulting in multiple acquittals.

Bombay HC Denies Mirza Baig's Request to Leave Solitary Confinement
The Bombay High Court denied Mirza Himayat Baig's request to move from solitary confinement to a general barrack. Convicted in the 2010 Pune German Bakery blast, Baig was sentenced to death in 2013, later commuted to life imprisonment. His advocate argued that Baig suffers from mental distress due to 14 years of incarceration in an "anda cell." However, the court found that Baig is not in solitary confinement and noted that the high-security cell provides adequate facilities. The judges emphasized that the prison authorities are responsible for assessing security risks.
