Assam Chief Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma celebrates the revival of the bulbuli fight, a traditional Bihu tradition, after it was stopped in 2016. The Assam Cabinet has approved guidelines for conducting animal sports during Magh Bihu, ensuring the well-being of the animals. Sarma was seen watching the bird fight at Hayagriva Madhav Mandir in Hajo and is expected to join the Moh-Juj celebrations in Nagaon district.

IndiGo Pilots Safely Land Flight Amid Severe Turbulence and Hailstorm

On May 21, IndiGo's Delhi-Srinagar flight (6E-2142) faced severe turbulence and hailstorm near Pathankot. The pilots attempted to avoid the storm but were denied permission to divert. They decided to continue to Srinagar, flying manually as the aircraft encountered multiple warnings and severe turbulence, with a descent rate of 8,500 feet per minute. Despite the challenges, they safely landed the aircraft with over 220 passengers on board, although the nose cone was damaged. The Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA) is investigating the incident.
