Only candidates who passed the JEE Main 2025 were eligible for the Advanced exam, which is crucial for admission to undergraduate engineering programs at IITs. The Amarnath Yatra was suspended after heavy rainfall caused a landslide, resulting in one death and three injuries. A weather advisory warned of continued heavy rain in Jammu and Kashmir, affecting pilgrimage routes. Video footage showed pilgrims being swept away by the landslide. The deceased was identified as Sona Bai, a 55-year-old from Rajasthan. Authorities announced the suspension of the yatra from both Pahalgam and Baltal base camps for restoration work. Since the pilgrimage began on July 3, 2.47 lakh pilgrims have visited the shrine, raising the death toll to 15.
